Children’s Flapper Shoes, ca. 1926 – Lamé, Rhinestone Button & Original Box
Historical Context
What a find! In the 1920s, little girls were often dressed like adult women — chic, smart, and fashion‑forward. With a short flapper dress, a girl would have worn exactly these shoes. Children’s footwear from the Jazz Age is exceptionally rare, especially when preserved with its original box.
Construction & Materials
These charming children’s flapper shoes, dating to around 1926, carry the label CALZADO GIL, Valencia. They are made of shimmering lamé, giving them the same glamorous appearance seen in adult evening shoes of the period.
The shoes feature a classic strap closure, fastened with a rhinestone button — a detail that adds sparkle and authenticity. Their dainty finish reflects the refined craftsmanship of early 20th‑century Spanish shoemakers.
Condition is very well preserved, especially remarkable for children’s footwear of this age. The decoration shown in photographs is not included.
Rarity & Collecting Significance
Children’s flapper shoes are extremely rare, as they were typically worn until worn out and seldom kept. This pair, preserved with its original box, represents a museum‑worthy example of 1920s children’s fashion, ideal for collectors of antique shoes, Jazz Age textiles, and historic costume accessories.
